Charlie O’Brien is the son of Helen and Kevin O’Brien, founders of Kangarilla Road. As a small child (a photo on the website says it all) he revelled in the noise of vintage, the ‘silent noise’ that of the wine when bottled. Since leaving school at the end of 2016 he worked vintages at Gemtree and Yangarra Estate in McLaren Vale, Pikes in the Clare Valley and Domaine Astruc (part of the Paul Mas group) in Provence in the south of France. He returns to France around the time of publication to work the vintage at Chateau Lafite; the world is his oyster.
