The Ballot and Millot families started acquiring vineyards in Meursault in the 17th Century and when Charles Ballots parents married, they brought together vines from some of the best sites in the commune.
From one of the best addresses in Meursault.
This lovely Meursault from Les Narvaux, situated across the road to the north from the 1er Cru of Genévrières, comes from three parcels of 60, 40 and 20 year old vines giving real depth to this attractive wine, aged for just under a year in oak 10% new, no battonage, lees stirring, is performed to keep the wine fresh and direct.
This is a nicely restrained, stony Meursault, with great tension and elegance. There’s a real weight of fruit in here, with gentle ginger and saffron notes.
This is a wine to serve with smoked salmon, chicken liver parfait or a selection of cheeses.
