Description

Meursault Les Narvaux 2016, Dom. Ballot Millot & Fils, Burgundy – France £62.00

From one of the best addresses in Meursault.

This is a nicely restrained, stony Meursault, with great tension and elegance. There’s a real weight of fruit in here, with gentle ginger and saffron notes.

Auxey-Duresses Vieilles Vignes 2015, Domaine Vincent Girardin £32.50

Vincent Girardin exists today as one of the smaller Burgundy negociant houses, owning 13 hectares of prime vineyards with contracts to buy high-quality fruit from another 85 hectares, over many of which they have direct control.

From a lesser known village this Auxey Duresses 2015 has exceptional ripeness, texture and fine minerality.

Chassagne-Montrachet “Les Chaumes” 1er Cru 2017 Dom. Michel Niellon, Burgundy, France £70.00

This excellent Wine from Domaine Michel Niellon has all of the ripe apple, lemon curd and length that one would expect from this esteemed region. You will also find peach and pear with honeysuckle, butterscotch and clean minerality within the complexity of this brilliant Wine.

Domaine Philippe Livera, Gevrey-Chambertin “En Champs” 2017, Burgundy – France £58.00

A glorious Pinot Noir from Burgundy’s Domaine Philippe Levera produced with grapes from the Gevrey-Chambertin region. It spent around a year in oak before bottling, packed full of spices.

Cherries melding into gingerbread & gamey notes. A fantastic example with great depth and length.

Volnay Vieilles Vignes 2015, Dom. Vincent Girardin, Burgundy, France £45.00

The history of Maison Vincent Girardin is relatively recent. In 1980, at the age of 19, Vincent Girardin, the son of a family of winegrowers based in Santenay since the 17th century, decided to strike out on his own, and began producing wine from two hectares of vines that he had inherited from his parents.

A feminine wine which is one of the only Burgundy Pinot Noirs you can already enjoy and drink when young.

Elegant nose of violet and strawberry supported by leather and vanilla. Great structure. aromas of black cherry, violets and rose petals with hints of flowers and spice. The palate is silky and creamy, with round flavors of chocolate milk, dark plum, smoky notes and woodland elements.

Domaine Pierre Naigeon, Old Vines, Marsannay 2015, Burgundy, France £32.00

Pierre Naigeon is a leading and renowned producer in the Côtes de Nuits.

The Naigeon family has been established in Gevrey-Chambertin for over 150 years.

Fresh, fleshy raspberry fruit combined with notes of sloes through to a fine, long finish, notes of violet. A bang for buck Burgundy from a top producer.
