Bang for your Buck Whites – a closer look at what’s in the case:
Viognier ‘1753’ 2020, Château de Campuget
Château de Campuget was established in 1942 and is a top quality estate near Nîmes, which is steeped in history. This great Viognier offers distinctive orange marmalade, apricot and guava notes, backed up by ripe tropical fruits.
Adega de Pegões ‘Selected Harvest White’ 2020, Península de Setúbal, Portugal
Rich and opulent on the palate with creamy vanilla spice and toasted oaky notes, it has a persistent, elegant finish. We love this alongside some lovely creamy cheeses.
Verdeca ‘Talò’ 2020, San Marzano, Puglia, Italy
This is a bone-dry Verdeca which shows a richness of aromatics: white flowers, crisp green apple and a hint of honey. This Verdeca is full flavoured, with a creamy texture and a long and intense finish.
Entre-Deux-Mers Blanc 2019, Château Lestrille, Bordeaux, France
A fantastic blend bringing intense aromas of citrus, lime and pear on the nose and unveiling an expressive mineral character on the palate. This wine is lively with good length and shows remarkable balance.
Grüner Veltliner 2019, Eschenhof, Wagram, Austria
Arnold Holzer’s classic and vibrant style of Gruner Veltliner from the clay soils of Wagram in Austria. Holzer took over the estate in 2010, aged just 23. Expect buckets of lemon zest, white pepper hints of fennel and rose, and great acidity with a slight Jasmine tea finish.
Albariño Coral do Mar Rías Baixas 2019, Pazo do Mar
This great Albariño offers stone fruit character, a delicate spicy nose, fresh citrus acidity and a refreshing saline finish. First and foremost, it’s fantastic.
