  • Generous bouquet of walnut. Lingering, silky, salty-nutty palate which ends surprisingly dry.
  • This Banyuls 2016 is a Vin Doux Naturel (naturally sweet wine) made from Grenache. Refreshing and spicy with raisiny fruitcake flavours. Enjoy this bottle on its own as a dessert wine, pair with chocolate or a lovely selection of blue cheese.
  • Bergerac Blanc, Moulin des Dames, Château Tour des Gendres 2017 £26

Unctuous and superbly rich and full-bodied, this is a very ripe expression of a barrel aged Sauvignon Blanc from the Bergerac region of the south of France.

Complex with flavours of apricot and citrus, it would be perfect with fish in a creamy sauce, shellfish or blue cheese.

  • Tocco Colline Pescaresi is an organic family farm in Alanno, in the Pescara hills in Abruzzo. This organic Pecorino is bright in colour, intense lemon zest and heaps of minerality. Fresh and very drinkable, also a great food wine.
  • Château Lestrille is located in the small town of St. Germain du Puch, on the northern point of Entre-deux-Mers. The Entre-deux-Mers is one of Bordeaux’s largest appellations, and translates as “between two seas,” signifying its positions between the large Garonne and Dordogne rivers. This great Bordeaux Blanc from a wonderful producer offers cut grass on the nose with plenty of apple and honey on the palate and an ace oily texture, ripe rich stone fruits with lemongrass notes.
  • Domaine Pinchinat Cotes de Provence Rose 2020 This Côtes de Provence Rosé is a thoughtful blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Rolle, Cabernet Sauvignon and Mourvèdre. Pale in colour and light in style, it is a classic Provence rosé to the core. Delicate hints of melon, peach and apricot on the nose and the palate, the finish is persistent and fresh. An elegant example from an understated grower.

  • Arnold Holzer's classic and vibrant style of Gruner Veltliner from the clay soils of Wagram in Austria. Holzer took over the estate in 2010, aged just 23. Expect buckets of lemon zest, white pepper hints of fennel and rose, and great acidity with a slight Jasmine tea finish.
  • Bertie Coetzee represents the sixth generation of his family to farm Lowerland, on the banks of the Orange River near Prieska in the Northern Cape. Lovely red apple skin and fresh bread aromas followed by a stone fruit component and some ginger spice on the nose.
  • The Ilberts have been growing vines in Cahors since 1901, bottling their own wines since 2005, and current vignerons Julien and Sophie today farm 22 hectares on the highest reaches of La Causse, an old Occitane word for the region's limestone plateau. Bright, intense purple colour, recognisably Malbec with bramble fruit and grip, yet at just 12.5% alcohol it’s a genuine vin de soif – even for serving slightly chilled in warmer summer months. Radically brilliant.
  • Montenidoli, Vernaccia di San Gimignano 'Fiore' 2018 £26

Elisabetta Fagiuoli and her husband Sergio founded their 50 hectare winery in 1965, on a hillside across the valley from the picturesque Tuscan town of San Gimignano. Montenidoli means "mountain of little nests".
With a nose of cucumber, lemon and white flowers, the wine is vibrant on the palate with bright, crisp, stony minerality accompanied by flavours of green apple and lemongrass. Perfectly balanced, with a delicate acidity and a clean finish.
